Blast from the Past #96: Eastman/Dooney Barbarian Turtle

Here's a fun joint effort from back in 1986. This is something that Kevin Eastman penciled and Michael Dooney inked. It's similar to the drawing I posted as "Blast from the Past" #30 some years ago -- that one was a barbarian Turtle that I penciled and Mike inked. -- PL

You know, I've looked at this piece dozens of times, and I've never made that connection. I don't know if Kevin or Mike intended it to be Splinter's pelt. But now I'll never be able to see this beautiful drawing in the same way. Thanks a lot! -- PL

  7. Sorry about that, it's just that it looks so much like the Splinter from those first issues you and Kevin did.

I think it's just leftover grief from Splinter's death messing with my head.

Thanks for creating such a wonderful character.

  8. I thought it was a wolf but now that you say it....

Maybe it could be like that ancient (and I'm pretty sure made up for weird conan type comics) that when something you love dies, you eat it to make it part of you.

    LOL yuck.
