Update on TMNT Volume 4 #32 (CORRECTION! 05-09-14 6:25PM)

At the Free Comic Book Day signings last weekend, I had several people ask me about when TMNT Volume 4 #32 would be available via mail order through Mirage Studios.

The plan is to begin selling copies that way on May 18. Please note that I will not be doing large head sketches in any of these copies, although if requested, I will autograph copies ordered from Mirage.

I also plan to have a digital version up, probably like I did with TMNT Volume 4 #31 on this TMNT blog, before then. I want to see if we can work out a way to post a PDF file, but I can't guarantee it. It may end up being individual images of each page like last time.

I am also planning to do a printing of issue #31 at some point in the near future. Watch this space! -- PL

TMNT Volume 4, #31

From the "Better Really Late Than Never" Department: Here's TMNT Volume 4, number 31. I don't know if I'll ever get around to concluding this story, but I realized it makes little sense to have this comic essentially completed, and not at least post it so fans of Volume 4 (and I know there are a few of them) can read it.

First, Michael Dooney's beautiful painted cover:

And then the "guts", layouts and pencils by Jim Lawson, inking by Eric Talbot, and tones, plot, lettering and script by Peter Laird. -- PL

"Falling Away": an update

In my post from this June 8th, I wrote the following:

"I will take the plots that I have written out for what would have been the concluding six or seven issues of the comic book, beef them up a little bit..."

Well, I should have taken a look at my "TMNT plots" file (which I keep on another laptop that I don't use that much), something I haven't done in quite a few months. If I had, I would have been reminded of the salient fact that the plots for the remaining issues of Volume 4 (beyond the two that are already drawn but not yet published) are incomplete at best; some are really only one or two lines. So to "beef up" these things is going to take quite a bit of work.

Sigh.

At least I have a firm idea of how I want the series to end. That much is solid. -- PL

TMNT #31 cover by Michael Dooney

I got the word today from Michael Dooney that he had finished the cover painting for the next issue of TMNT Volume 4 -- #31 -- and he'd left it on one of the computers at Mirage. So this afternoon, while I was at the office waiting for Eric Talbot to get there so he and Jim Lawson and I could go for a short (but sweet) motorcycle ride, I copied it onto my trusty memory stick and brought it home.

And here it is!

Now that Mike has worked his magic, I think the only thing left to do is put together the letters pages. So if you had been thinking of writing a letter of comment, now would be a good time to finish it up and send it in. -- PL
