I'm having fun picking up the reins of my "Blast from the Past" project, and while looking through the old BftP's to make sure I don't duplicate my efforts, it occurred to me that when I was doing BftP before, it was on the Planet Racers website where it was "view only", as opposed to this blog, which allows comments. That made me wonder if it might be fun to repost all of those old BftP entries on this new blog, so people could have the option to comment on those pieces of artwork/history. What say you? -- PL

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind you reposting the art from BftP, so long as it's interspersed between stuff we haven't seen before. I know I prefer feedback on my art, so if it was me, I'd definitely repost old stuff.

I think repostin would be good, altho I did follow those posts in BftP too. This piece is great looking, altho as GreenWillow said, Spidey does look a bit small.

Also, a while back i asked if the Utrom Robot Walkers that look suspiciously like Krangs Bubble Walker where designed first and just never used in the Mirage comic.
If you have any old design sketches of either proto UTrom Bodies, or possible designs for Krangs various bodies, I'd love to see 'em....

Neil, I don't think Kevin and I ever designed any type of "Personal Mobility Unit" for the Utroms back in Volume 1 other than the "Terminator"-inspired exoskeletons. It's possible that Jim Lawson was inspired by the old "Krang's Bubble Walker" when he designed the Utrom robot walkers, but I can't say for certain. He's never mentioned it, in any event.
If I find any sketches of Utrom proto-PMUs, I'll certainly post them. -- PL

I love parodies. The whole daredevil spin on the TMNT origin is great. Stick/Splinter, hand/foot, the truck and the man being saved. I love that Casey and Raph joke about Iron Man in the Raph one shot.
