Another print

Here's another one of the prints I'm taking to Heroes Con:

This is actually one I did for a show we attended in Nashua, NH a few years ago. While packing for Heroes Con, I discovered I still had about a dozen or so of them left. One of these days I'm going to try coloring this piece. -- PL

  1. I HAVE THIS!!!! I got one when they were offered after that one convention-- I have it framed in a nice frame, and I LOVE it! I consider it my first eBay purchase.

    COLORED version???? I hope so!

You just KNOW Leo is saying "Be ready for anything..."

  6. I think that would be awesome as a colored piece! Or even inked!

    Awesome Job!

  7. Oh I remember this pic! It must have been tucked into one of the old comics as a pin up maybe? Still cracks me up; Don lost in his techno-gadget, Leo being all Heroic and *Leaderly* and meanwhile Mike's about to be eaten.

  8. hey Pete, I was just wondering if you would consider doing a giveaway or contest that had a piece of your original art as the grand prize. I think that might make a very cool 25th anniversary idea.

  9. Cool! While the TMNT always look great, I'm really digging the detail on the stone walls! I have a terrible time with backgrounds; they are my worse enemy and I try to avoid them! And speaking of avoiding certain art, didn't I once read you and Kevin used to fight over which comic pages to draw? I think it had something to do with wanting to draw more fight scenes compared to boring dialogue scenes. ;)

Thank you for the kind words. I have always loved texture in drawing, even though sometimes it can be the most tedious part of doing the artwork. But I think that when well done, it adds a lot.

As for Kevin and I "fighting over which comic pages to draw", I don't think it ever got to the level of actual FIGHTING, or even harsh words, but there were always some pages or panels which we left for last... because they were kind of boring, or at least not the most exciting or fun. But I think that one of the best things about our original collaboration was that we complemented each other, each one's strengths filling in where the other was weaker. -- PL

Elias, that's not a bad idea, and if we find the right way to do it, it may happen. -- PL

I know a lot of people who wouldn't just agree with this statement, but who might also say that the TMNT haven't been the same since that collaboration ended because you did compliment each other so well. Both in art and in story telling.

My mom said that of me and one of my best friends from high school. She (my friend) was dark, moody, and angry, while I was Little Ms. Perfect. But when we were together she was happy and polite while I managed to break out of my shell a bit. We've now each gone our separate ways and we have even less in common than we did in high school, but we've managed to keep track of each other and I hope that never changes. After all we went through together, I can't imagine ever not being friends.

  13. Every dream that the fans ever had would be great for the 25th, maybe some will be ready for the 30th.
