On a trip to Washington, DC last year, my daughter (or rather the friend she was with) snapped this photo:
Here is her description of the event:
"I was visiting Zach in DC and when we were visiting the museums we saw them being sold at an ice cream truck... it tasted delicious, and had the eyes in the right place for once."
Those would be bubble gum eyes, if I remember correctly. Yummy! -- PL
-->> ..adorable..
ReplyDelete..gee.. ^_^
I love those things. It's a shame they don't sell 'em at the stores.
ReplyDeleteThose ice cream bars are delicious. I like them much better than those creepy custard pies that were made back in the OT days. I remember the green slime being sickeningly sweet.
ReplyDeleteI miss those bars, although I always spit the eyes out. :)
ReplyDeleteMuch better than the impromtu ninja turtle ice cream cones my current ice cream man sells (regular cone covered in green sprinkles with two red m&ms for eyes and a licorice string bandanna). Although I guess I should be happy the turtles are covered in the ice cream category at all.
I had one in DC last summer!!
ReplyDeletelol! my son will grab me one off the truck when it comes by once in awhile
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I've never had one of those. There aren't that many ice cream trucks where I'm from and the ones that do come around here have never carried them.
ReplyDeleteOne of my students got me one while we were at a park one day last year. It was pretty cool and tasted good. But I felt kind of bad gobbling up a turtle.
ReplyDeleteThe regret only lasted a few seconds.
They are yummy you're right, I wish they sold them in stores.
ReplyDeleteThe only part I don't like is the gum eyes they get so hard because they're frozen lol
But cute pic of your daughter btw, is she a tmnt fan?
I know odd question but I thought I'd as :)

Hey, I don't think that's an odd question at all!
She grew up from day one almost literally surrounded by TMNT stuff. I know she loved playing with the toys when she was little, had Turtle plush toys among her stuffed "aminals", and enjoyed watching the old TV show and the movies. So I guess she would qualify as a fan of sorts. Curiously, she has never read the original comics, although I have tried to get her to from time to time. -- PL
Cute picture. I used to rush to the ice cream truck to get those.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, it looks really yummy! ^_^ Unfortunatley I've never really been able to find those around where I live! :(
ReplyDeleteI remember those. Whose idea was it to market frozen gumballs?
