Blast from the Past #141: Ninja Tribunal ship modification

Sometimes I think I may have driven Lloyd and the other folks at 4Kids nuts with some of the small detail things I requested changes on during the episode development process. This may have been one of those times.

An important vehicle used during the "Ninja Tribunal" story arc was the ship used by the Tribunal to transport the Turtles and Splinter to Japan. When I got the design drawing for the ship, I liked it a lot, except for one detail -- the area hear the bow where it seemed that the side of the ship was so low that waves could easily wash over it. So I suggested this minor tweak. -- PL

  1. How many designs did you go over during the course of the 2k3 cartoon?

  2. Sometimes I really mind the minor details too. But that doesnt mean I miss the big picture. It's just an artist thing I guess. Minor details do seem important.

  3. -->> The Ninja Tribunal designs were the penultimate, so beautiful and and actually in some ways even darker in tone than the prior four season designs.

    God look at that !!

  4. This totally should have released as a vehicle alongside a wave of Ninja Tribunal season figures. How flippin' cool would have Dragon-Turtles and Shredder been?

  5. That ship was so beautiful. Nit-picking that detail might seem trivial to some people but you're absolutely right. It's all those little details that make up the beauty of the art.

  7. I've enjoyed seeing the sketches/drawings for the 2k3 series.

And it leads me to an off-topic question about the BTTS serise-- if there are only 13 episodes this season, does that mean they're gonna cram the Find Splinter/Defeat CyberShredder/Conduct the Wedding into one 18 minute show?

OR are there more than 13 episodes?

Important plot threads will be resolved, but I wouldn't characterize it as "cramming" it all into one episode. There will be no more than thirteen episodes in this season, but there will be that special three-parter following the end of this season. -- PL
