Blast from the Past#188: Pencils for cover of TMNT Volume 2 (color series) #3

Here's another one of those covers I penciled for the color TMNT series that Mirage published. This one features Baxter Stockman in his (then) new robot body, some hapless DARPA guys, and a giant Turtle head. -- PL

    Great piece! But I don't remember the turtle in the background on the cover for some reason...

    I think I have to order the remaining issues of volume 2 still. I haven't read it yet because I am missing a few issues...

    -->> Dan ,The Text and logo made that cover rather chaotic .. sometimes the heads in the BG got a little lost. I recall the cover of the Baxter Box & the Turtle on the roof, there is a Yelling TMNT head in the Back that got lost on me until i really looked close.

    Twopina, do it.. find them !!
    It's all startling and worth it !! !!

    You're right, tOkKa, I just looked at my issue 3 again. The turtle face is light blue against the red background. I probably just filtered it out all this time when I looked at the cover and was instead drawn the more colorful bot on the foreground. Strange... I need to look through all my covers carefully and see what else I've missed.

    I always liked Baxter getting more time. He's a cool villain who didn't always get explored enough.

    I was glad to see him used in sometimes hilarious capacity in the 2K3 cartoon.
