  3. That would be an awesome full-circle sort of situation, although I'm sure it could never happen. The clear difference between Daredevil/Turtles on film and Spider-Man/Avengers on film is that the latter two are both properties that have existed together in comics for fifty years. This makes me wonder about how these IP rights work though. Peter, you guys used to frequently drop in posters and other background images of Daredevil or Batman in your Turtles comics, which is something you would never see in a Marvel or DC book. So at what point do you cross a line of publishing rights? For instance, I would assume you couldn't just have Daredevil show up as a character in a Turtles book without signing some sort of deal with Marvel.

    1. I'm not a lawyer, so take this answer with a grain of salt, but I think there is a "fair use" provision in the law which allows for certain passing references to copyrighted and trademarked characters in one's work. For example, while I couldn't use Daredevil in a comic of mine without, as you say, working out a deal with Marvel/Disney, I might be fine having a character wear a t-shirt with the iconic "DD" logo. Again, I am not a lawyer, so I could be wrong about that. -- PL

  4. Frankly, as appealing as the idea would be, the new film just got far too much wrong, both tonally, and far too many changes to the source material for it to be viable, in addition to just generally being a terrible film. Unless they rebooted the Turtles for a more genuine, and gritty version (which I would not at ALL be averse to), I do not see the two combining well.

    1. Interesting... I didn't even think of the latest movie Turtles when I considered the possibility of a Daredevil/TMNT movie crossover. I agree with you -- I don't think it would work very well with that approach. -- PL
