TMNT Volume 4, #32: digital edition

  1. I guess we can post reviews of the comic here? If so, this issue was especially good...and that last page was a doozy!

I'm glad you haven't forgotten about that piece of fur Donnie clipped off Splinter back in issue #10 or so...that issue came out back in like 2002 or 2003, didn't it? Talk about a plot thread that was sitting there for over a decade! Of course I don't know what to make of this, unless the Battle Nexus Splinter is the "real" Splinter but we don't know when he left the Turtles and the one living with them for who knows how long is from...wow. What a head scratcher.

Mikey's story is interesting, and he's getting a bit...violent? I hope there are consequences for Mikey here, while its understandable he is angry, I've never seen Mikey want to kill so many "people" before. Its quite unusual to want to see him murder a race of aliens, and I'm anxious to see what happens when he meets Regenta.

The only plotline I didn't particularly care for is the Casey/Karai subplot, but that might be because I'm not sure where you're going with it. Don't like the idea of Casey and Karai sleeping together, its too soap opera-ish, especially with April on her way back home. But as said maybe I got it all wrong and something important is coming out of it...so I guess I'll see whenever the next issue comes out and will have my foot in my mouth!

It does feel like Volume 4 is winding down to reach its conclusion as the plotlines are coming together, so no matter how long the wait is for #33 I'll still be around to read it. And IDW collecting Volume 4 will be great, if you didn't know the first collection of Volume 2 is coming out this summer, it only collects the first 5 issues but I'm glad Volume 2 is finally getting a trade as Mirage never collected those issues.

Thank you for putting this up for free, I intend to buy a copy too when Mirage has it up. Great issue overall.

  6. Almost as great as being able to read a brand new TMNT issue is the honor of actually getting a letter printed on the letters page! Many thanks. One day when my son is old enough to read the REAL TMNT comics (having just turned 6, they're a bit intense for him just yet) seeing that in the back will be a great surprise! Such a great book, I really hope you're having nearly as much fun creating them as we get to have reading them. They are something else.. Amazing story! Amazing art! Loved the whole issue. Hope we see more!

  7. We made a PDF version of the comic for everyone but we're not sure how to share it with you Pete. You can email us at turtlepowerpodcast@gmail.com and we can send it over for you to post with the photos. Thanks for starting Vol. 4 back up again! Looking forward to grabbing a hard copy too.

  10. Not sure if this was sent to I'll try again--

I was behind on your blog so I was thrilled to see that 32 was being printed up and finished. It's great to see the Mirage Turtles back. They're the turtles I "know" and love and they always will be. I hope this brings about a more consistent publication from you guys.

Also, I wanted to say that Mike did such an excellent job on the cover. Was it done digitally? It had some of those elements but it was hard to tell.

    Thanks, Peter!

  11. was this ever printed? There are people claiming to sell printed editions and wanted to make sure they were legit

    1. Yes, Ezra, these were printed in a limited batch for sale at special events! I got my copy at an in-person signing at the Shellback Artworks store in Maine. So if you see a print edition for sale online, it's likely legit!

  13. Hi Mr Laird!

I want to thank you so much for creating the Turtles with Mr Eastman 30 years ago! My childhood was filled with Ninja Turtles and they were my favourites before I discovered Spider-Man or Batman or anything else. I haven't paid much attention to the turtles for a long time, but got back into them since watching the Turtle Power documentary on Netflix. Since then I've been reading every Ninja Turtles comic I can find. I've reached the end of the Mirage run and I'm anxious to read the next issue. I know these have been coming out slowly over the past several years, so I'll wait patiently for issue # 33 and beyond. I know many fans, old, new, and returning, are waiting with me. I hope the faithfulness and passion of your fans can encourage you that we still care about the Mirage turtles!

Also, are there plans to release these in TPB? Do you own the rights to do so, or is there some arrangement with IDW?

Thanks for reading my post and for any answers you care to provide!

  14. Wow just noticed you did some more of these! Read the originals back when I was a lad, living in Portsmouth, Hampshire (the original town in the UK, not the USA one!) . Hope you can continue and tie up this series. Deserves a TPB release for sure!

  15. With TMNT Vol. 3 currently being reprinted in colour with an official ending, I hope to see this series get the same treatment someday. It seems awfully silly to leave it in its current state.

  16. Is there going to be ending to thus series? I really cant wait to see how it will end...

  17. Hello Peter! I haven't visited regularly in quite a while. But I do check in. With everything TMNT related that's been going on, and the way the last Ronin story is unfolding, and my own blasted curiousity....how the heck have you been? Covids been a giant monster that's effected so many lives...just, how are you doing?

  19. Hi Peter,

With the recent news as of September 2021; Mirage Studios, Inc., Mirage Licensing, Inc., Mirage Publishing, Inc., and Mirage Management, Inc. are being dissolved and Mirage has gone out of existence,
can you please give us a final closure if this is truly the final and Mirage TMNT Vol. 4 has come to an official end with this issue #32.
I thank you for sharing your years of creatively through Mirage Studios. It has been a blast!
