I don't think this was ever used for anything, but I like the rendering I did of the smaller “floating” turtles. Can’t say I’m digging the color choices I made for the Shredder and Casey Jones... what the heck was I thinking?! At least the Triceraton is the right color.
I think this was one of the few times I used liquid acrylics in one of my pieces. -- PL
-->> .. very dream like..
ReplyDelete..don't see why Shredder's and Casey's colours wouldn't work for the state of this.

Could also be the background color reflecting on them *shruggs*
ReplyDeleteColor is great, something many people don't take full advantage of.

Are the floating turtles the part that was done in liquid acrylics? I assume you mean like the soft body liquitex that come in a jar instead of a tube right? I haven't really used them too much, but I met CF Payne one time and he explained a really interesting way to use liquid acrylic for flesh tones that I've been experimenting with every since. They are a little too "soupy" for my liking, but if you're good with them I've seen some pretty cool results.

Yes, the "floating Turtles" were done with liquid acrylics. These paints -- the brand name of which I have forgotten, it's been so long -- came in little plastic bottles with a fold-up nozzle in the cap that you could use to sqirt the desired amount of paint into your mixing dish or tray. I remember that some of the other guys, Kevin especially, did some very cool things with them. -- PL
-->> .. Liquid acrylic: they still come like that.
ReplyDeleteRelatively inexpensive.
They aren't my absolute favourite, but they are pretty versatile and i've not had problems mixing them up with other media like Cryaon or Oils.. ect.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with the Casey and Shredder colors. I actually found it great when I saw the red SHredder.
ReplyDelete-->> Exactly, A .. kind of a surreal snap-shot of a Turtle's mind.. ( i'd say Leo's ) ..as a dreamy montage .. thinkin' it should look weird and soft and flowing like the colours show. Sunset - like.. >v<
ReplyDeletei love it!
