I've been using "levels" lately and getting pretty good results. Do you tweak them in Photoshop or in the scanning software? If so, how do you tweak them?"

Many of the images I post of old artwork are not scanned per se, but are actually shot with my digital camera. However, I never use scanning software for anything other than the basic scanning, but I almost always use Photoshop for tweaking, for scanned or photographed images. Those tweaks typically only involve straightening, correcting distortion, altering brightness and contrast, adjusting color cast, and cleaning up with the eraser or brush tools any dirt or stray marks which don't belong on the art.

Although I may be missing out re: the scanning software, and there may be some real benefits to using the adjustment settings in it, I have to say I have always found scanner software to be kind of clunky. -- PL PLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14615918982616632405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-225302720400600293.post-65810066883476373252011-05-03T17:04:19.118-07:002011-05-03T17:04:19.118-07:00When I was born! When I was born!GChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11256409823010261919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-225302720400600293.post-5958658989151888062011-05-02T12:03:20.666-07:002011-05-02T12:03:20.666-07:00Fantastic drawing!
