Looks really good, I dont think I have seen many Shredder drawings that you have done other than the stuff in the books. I was thinking maybe Leos legs were a little long I dont know I wouldn't have thought anything was wrong with it if you didn't mention it in the post ;)
"Neil said... You know, Saki wasn't named after Stan Saki, was he? :) Where did the name Oruko Saki come from?"
No, Oroku Saki was not named after Stan Sakai -- I'm pretty sure I had not yet seen any of San's work at the time we created the Shredder. I think his name came from a little bit of research we did into Japanese names, though honestly I can't recall exactly. -- PL
Peter, I'd say Shredder looks a bit on the small side if I had to choose, but based on the perspective it's pretty close. Keep posting stuff like this, as a huge fan from my childhood, I love seeing the never-printed stuff!
Yeah, Saki looks a little small. But it's still pretty darn cool!

ReplyDelete-->> ..the perspective is not to bad, and adds to the unique charm of the style, at least for artistic license .
ReplyDeleteShredder is in defensive so it is a bit understandable to account for size and him being a bit hunched over.

ReplyDeleteNeil - Wondering if he just saw lightning outside
-->> Neil, would Pete and Kevin even have known Stan at that time ?!

-->> BTW , Neil .. i recall Stan's earliest work on the old ' MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE ' figure pack-in comics.
